The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales (RCAHMW) holds the national public archive of architectural and archaeological records for Wales. We have an ongoing programme to digitise records held in our archive.



Visiting Us

The RCAHMW's online database Coflein provides free access to online images, catalogue records and detailed descriptions of 1000's of buildings, monuments and archaeological sites across Wales. We are based in Aberystwyth and have a Search Room and Library with a free car park next to the building.  Tel: 01970  621200

  • Ty-Draw is a hallhouse dating from 1479-80. Later used as a barn. Originally it had timber walls and an impressive arched-braced central truss. Now restored.
